Subaru South Tampa Has Local Roots

Subaru South Tampa began over 50 years ago as a service facility for all brands of car, but with a focus on the air-cooled Volkswagen models. Peter Mastro Sr. was a skilled technician and built a nice business taking care of repairs and service. Subaru connected with Peter, and thus the first Subaru dealer in Florida was born. With the fuel crisis of the 70s, small imported cars became popular, and our Tampa Subaru dealership grew quickly.

Peter Sr. passed away at just 51 years old. His family took over the business and continued in their father's style of no-nonsense, straightforward business dealings. As time passed, Subaru grew in popularity, business expanded, and the location was renovated, and our South Florida Subaru car dealership in Tampa continued to boom.

In 2007, a second location was purchased near Orlando. Located just outside Lake Mary, the company doubled in size, and the new location flourished.

2020 brought the acquisition of the 2 locations by Myers Auto Group of West Palm Beach. The Myers Group is also a family operation and represents brands including Land Rover, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Kia, and McLaren.
